Everest Gokyo Cho La pass trekking is one of the most famous trekking trails in Everest Region. Combine Everest Base Camp with Gokyo Lake and Chola pass trekking starts from Lukla and follows the Dudh Kosi valley to Namche Bazaar. Everest Gokyo Chola pass trekking takes a trekker the closest to the highest peak of the world Mt. Everest and offers splendid views of mountains. The trek offers one the opportunity to explore Everest base camp (5363 meters), Kala Pattar (5550 meters), the lush landscape, forests, monasteries and people of Sherpa, mountainous lifestyle, their exquisite cultural, glaciers and glacier lakes.
Across the Cho La Pass, the trail reaches Thangna / Dragnag (4700m) with spectacular views of Ama Dablam and Taweche. Ascending the trail continues towards Gokyo Lake, the climb to Gokyo Peak (5480 m) gives trekkers splendid views of mountains including world’s highest peak Mt. Everest, Makalu and Cho Oyo with beautiful sunrise view.
Upon arrival in Kathmandu Active Sherpa Trekking airport representative pick you up at airport and transfer to your hotel in Kathmandu, afternoon free & rest.
Today early in the morning transfer to domestic airport for scenic 35 minute flight to Lukla. Before we begin our trek to phakding we stop for hours to short out our baggage and start our trek to Phakding, today our trek trial is gradual descent, cross the suspension bridge and passing through stone carving mani walls ( written Spiritual Mantra OM MANI PADME HUNG), Buddhist pray flags, monastery and beautiful Sherpa villages.
Continue our trekking to Namche bazar, crossing suspension bridges over the Dudhakoshi River and we enter the Sagarmatha National park check post, we pass Jorsale village and walk alongside of the Dudh Koshi and Bhote Koshi rivers after few hours steep ascent brings us to the capital- land of Sherpa Namche Bazar known as Gate way of Everest.
Today we stop at Namche Bazar for Acclimatization. There’s an optional 2 hour hike to Everest View Point, an uphill walk that will help speed acclimatization. Otherwise, spend the day exploring Namche Bazaar visit the Sherpa museum, Monastery and there are several quality restaurants, hotels, lodges, shops, money exchange services, internet cafes and bakeries.
After breakfast we will continue our trek to Tengboche with breathtaking views of Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, Thamserku, Tabuche and Kwangde, we stop over night at Tenboche, Tenboche is one the best place in Everest region with largest Buddhist Monastery.
After a great trip to Tengboche, the trek trail descends and pass through a forest of birch, fir, juniper and rhododendron, we reach to lovely spot at Deoboche 4410 m with the outstanding view of Mt Ama Dablam.
Today is rest day for acclimatization, if you are interested for a hiking trip to chhukung valley our guide will take you, then return to Dingboche by the evening. Otherwise short trek and explore to around Dingboche.
Today the trek will be more challenging, due to the higher altitude, crossing Dhugla (4620m) with some of Tea house and pass a chain of stone stupa dedicated to the climbers and trekkers who lost their lives to Everest . From today you will get close view of high mountains like Mount Nuptse, Pumori and Lobuche after a while as you proceed towards Lobuche. Overnight at Lobuche.
Today is our final destination for Everest Base Camp Trek, the trial about 4 hours trek from Lobuche to Gorakshep. After Gorakshep there are no teahouse/lodge so we take a Lunch at Gorak Shep then continue trek to Everest Base Camp. About 2 hour walking on a side ridge of the Khumbu glacier you will reach your final goal to Everest base camp at an altitude of 5364m. You can get a good view of Khumbu glacier, Khumbu Ice fall and the route to the south col. We return back to Gorakshep. Overnight at Gorakshep.
Today we start early morning to climb the Kala Pattar (5545m) the most important part of trip to gets the outstanding views of Mount Everest, the highest point on the planet at 8,848 m, and the other mountain, Nuptse, Pumori, Chagatse, Lhotse and countless others beautiful mountains back to Goraksherp after breakfast trek down to Dzongla.
Today we start early in the morning from Dzongla with beautiful view of Cholatse and other mountains. Today our trials climb to Cho La can be a little tricky we need to be alert as rocks can be glazed by ice. Upon reaching the top of Chola Pass, we see Buddhist prayer flags; scenery of majestic Himalaya peaks in 360 directions is breathtaking. Then the trials leading down to Thangnak can be easily made out from the Chola pass. We stop over night at Thangnak.
Today we trek is about 4 hour to Gokyo Lake, the trials take us to the Ngozumpa glacier edge after short walk, which is the longest glacier in Nepal. Continue trek to the glacier, we get views of the second of the Gokyo lakes on the series of six lakes in Gokyo Valley. A short distance away is the third Gokyo Lake. On the edge of third lake stands the Gokyo Village and we stop overnight Gokyo village. Afternoon you can explore the biggest glacier of the world – the Ngazumpa Glacier.
Today early in the morning we climb to Gokyo Ri (5360m) enjoy the lovely view of the Mountains in Everest Region as well as sunrise view. From the top of the Gokyo Ri we get closer amazing views of Mt. Cho-Oyu, Mt. Gyachung Kang, Mt. Everest, Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Nuptse, Mt. Makalu and the biggest glacier of the world – the Ngazumpa Glacier trek back to Gokyo and after breakfast we continue trek down to Dole.
We continue trek descend to Phorste Thanga and ascend to mongla we stop mongla for lunch from here we get splendid view of Kwangde, Tawache, Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, Kantega and Thamserku. After lunch continues descend to Khumjung Village. Khumjung is the largest and beautiful Sherpa village in the Everest Region.
Today after breakfast trek down to phakding on the way we visit Khumjung high School the school is also called Hillary school which is built by Sir Edmund Hillary’s ‘the Himalayan Trust’ in 1961 and we visit Namche Bazar for cup of Coffee and last minute shopping then continue trek phakding.
Today we trek same trial to Lukla, over night stop at Lukla.
Today early in the morning fly back to Kathmandu rest of day is free & easy for your own activities.
Today after breakfast Active Sherpa Trekking City Guide will take you for Half day city sightseeing to Boudhanth Stupa and Kathmandu Durbar Square, late afternoon back to hotel and rest of day free for last minute shopping.
