Synopsis

The round Annapurna Trekking is also known as the classic Annapurna Circuit treks, passes along the Marsyangdi river, over the Thorung La pass (highest point at 5416 meters) and descends Kali Gandaki valley and provides magnificent view of beautiful snow-capped peaks like Manaslu (8163 m), Annapurna II (7937 m.), Annapurna III (7555m), Annapurna IV (7525m), Nilgiri (7041m), Dhaulagiri (8167m), Annapurna I (8091m), Annapurna south (7219m), Hiunchuli (6441m), Machhapuchhre (6998m), Lamjung Himal (6986m),Tukuche peak (6920m) and Tilicho peak (7134m).

The main highlight of this trek is crossing over the Thorong La Pass (5416m) which is maximum point of the trek, excursion Manang Valley, visit holy place of Muktinath which is attractive pilgrims’ site of Hindu and Buddhist both. Trekking trough kaligandaki river valley word’s deepest Gorge, experience the famous natural hot spring at Tatopani, the water of which is believed to cure skin diseases and Ghorepani Poon Hill to see the splendid view with the striking sunrise.

Round Annapurna trek is starts from Jagat (8 to 9 Hrs drive from Kathmandu) and ending at Nayapul. Round Annapurna trek which is combined of foothill path, villages and beautiful arid valleys, natural flora and fauna, different landscape and Himalayan backdrop as well as passing the several ethnic groups and following the Marsyangdi River upstream anticlockwise route.

Itinerary

Day 1 : Arrival in Kathmandu airport transfer to hotel

Arrival in Kathmandu international airport Active Sherpa Trekking airport representative will meet you and transfer to your Hotel in Kathmandu afternoon your free & easy in Kathmandu.

Day 2 : City sightseeing to Swayambhunath and Patan

Today after breakfast we will go for half day city tour in Kathmandu including Swoyambhunath Stupa and Patan Durbar Square.The 2000 years old Swoyambhunath stupa, also known as “Monkey temple” This temple charms with its great dazzling stupa, while at the same time, offering a view of Kathmandu city. The two-thousand year-old stupa is the most profound expression of Buddhist symbolism in Nepal. There’s evidence to believe the hill was used for animist rites even before Buddhism arrived in the valley two thousand years ago and we will visit to Patan Durbar Square. Patan likes to recall its old name LALITPUR (“City of Beauty “), Patan is well known by its temples and handcrafts, besides the amazing creation of the beautiful fine decoration of Durbar Plaza, full of the finest pieces of newari architecture of Nepal.

Day 3 :Kathmandu drive to Jagat (1330m) via Besishahar

Today early morning breakfast, we start to drive to Jagat via Besishahar from Kathmandu. 240 km drive from Kathmandu, takes about 8-10 hours to reach the destination. On the way to Jagat offers you the beautiful views of snow-capped mountains around. We stop at Jagat for overnight.

Day 4 : Jagat trek to Dharapani (1960m)

Today after breakfast we begin our journey to round Annapurna trek with a rocky trail following the Marsyangdi River uphill to Tal. Tal is the first village in the Manang District. Crossing the wide and flat valley, our trail continues up and down to Dharapani (1890m).We stop at Dharapani for overnight.

Day 5 :Dharapani to Chame (2670m)

Today, our trial is passing a beautiful village, school and gradually climbs through a forest to the typical Tibetan-style village of Bagarchhap (2160). Passing along the left bank of the Marshyandi River we gradually climb to Danaque (2210m). After Danaque cross suspension bridge and climb up to Temang village (2600m) and continue trek koto (2640m). After koto easy trek to Chame (2670m) District headquarters of Manang. Stop at Chame for overnight.

Day 6 : Chame trek to Pisang (3200m)

Today, our trial starts passing through a deep forest in a steep and narrow valley crossing the Marsyangdi River, continues trek along the river banks through Telekhu (2840m) to Bharatang which is surrounded by apple orchards. The trial continues through the banks of the Marshyangdi River,cross the bridge and proceed with the gradual ascent to Dhukure Pokhari (3200m) and finally we reach at Pisang. From Pisang we can see magnificent views of the Annapurna II and Pisang Peak. Overnight at teahouse.

Day 7 : Pisang trek to Manang (3540m)

Today our trek trial to Manang (3440m.) takes about five to six hours. Trek through the upper part of the Manang District people of this region herd yaks and raise crops for a part of the year. The trail climbs a steep ridge which affords good views of the Manang valley and Tilicho peak (7134m.).The trials pass large Chorten (Buddhist Stupa) and mani walls (Buddhist mantra) with beautiful views of the Himalaya Annapurna II, Annapurna III, Annapurna IV, Gangapurna (7454m) and Tilicho Peak (7134m). Overnight at teahouse.

Day 8 : Acclimatization in Manang (3540m)

Today stop at Manang for acclimatization afternoon we can make short trek to Gangapurna Lake and enjoying the magnificent views Himalaya and explore around the Manang village. Overnight at teahouse.

Day 9 : Manang trek to Yak Kharka (4110m)

Today continue our journey from Manang to Yak Kharka, climb to the Marsyangdi valley, passing the small village of Gunsang (3960m). After crossing a large stream that flows from Chulu west and Gundang, the trail passes an ancient Mani wall in a pleasant meadow at 4000m we reach at Yak Kharka at 4000m.Overnight at Yak Kharka tea house.

Day 10 : Yak Kharka trek to Thorung Phedi (4420m)

Today after breakfast we continue trek to Thorung Phedi, it takes about 4 hours. The trail is an extremely easy gradual uphill to Chauri Ledar. From Ledar the trail continues to climb along the east bank of the Jorsang Khola, then we come across a large suspension bridge taking us over the river to the other side of the valley. After making a short ascent the route follows a narrow path across a high, unstable slope path before reach at Thorung Phedi (4420m). Overnight at tea house.

Day 11 :Thorung Phedi trek to Muktinath (3800m) Over the Thorung La Pass (5416m)

Today we set off early in the morning to cross the Thorung La Pass at 5416m.Today the trekking trail climb steeply on a regular route which is quite easy to follow. Continue trek about 4-6 hours ascent high altitude we reach on the top of the Pass, which is complete with Buddhist prayer flags. On the top of Thorung La we stop few minute for cup of hot Tea / Coffee and from the top we get outstanding views of Thorung peak, Annapurna range, Gangapurna, Khatung Kang and Kali Gandaki valley etc. After Thorung La top the trail descends steeply proceeding towards Chabarbu (4290m), continue trail crosses meadows, drops into a deep gorge and finally reach at Muktinath, which is considered one of the holiest pilgrimages for both of the Hindus and Buddhists. Overnight at tea house.

Day 12 : Muktinath Jeep Drive to Tatopani (1190m)

Today after breakfast we drive to Tatopani, off road drive through the Kaligandaki Valley to Tatpani. On the way to Tatopani we get the beautiful view of Dhaulagiri, Nilgiri and Annapurna range with deepest gorge of the world between two mountains Annapurna I (8091m.) and Dhaulagiri I (8167m.). The word of Tatopani is termed the natural hot spring situated at the bank of the Kali Gandaki River, where we can enjoy the hot spring. It is popularly believed that taking bath in Hot Spring helps you to get rid of skin diseases. Overnight at teahouse.

Day 13 :Tatopani trek to Ghorepani (2855m)

Today the trekking trail is gradually uphill and passes through different villages inhabited by the people of different caste and agricultural land. On the route you will see the best panoramic view of Dhaulagiri and Annapurna ranges. All the way to Ghorepani passing through small villages like Ghara (1780m), Shikha (1950m), Phalate (2390m), Chitre (2420m) and pass through rhododendron forests we reach at Ghorepani. From Ghorepani we will see panoramic views of Annapurna ranges, Fish Tail and Mt. Dhaulagiri ranges. Overnight at teahouse.

Day 14 :Visit Poon Hill (3210m) trek to Thikhedunga ( 1545m)

Today early in the morning hike to Poon Hill, it takes about an hour to reach the top of the hill in Ghorepani Poon Hill to enjoy the sunrise view over Mt. Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, Fishtail, Himchuli, Nilgiri and other snow cap Mountain. After enjoying the view in Poon Hill then descends Ghorepani. After breakfast we trek down through rhododendron forests and passing through small village Bhanthanti and Hille. Overnight at tea house.

Day 15 :Thikhedunga trek to Nayapool drive to Pokhara

Continue trek down to Nayapul, it is an easy day walk passing through beautiful green farming and various tiny gurung and magar villages on our trek before reaching Nayapul. Once we reach Nayapul we will drive to Pokhara and enjoy the evening last day of trekking at lake side pokhara.

Day 16 :Pokhara drive to Kathmandu

Today morning after breakfast we will drive back to Kathmandu, afternoon check in Kathmandu hotel rest day is free & easy.

Day 17 :City sightseeing to Boudhanath and Kathmandu Durbar square

Today morning Active Sherpa Trekking city guide will take you for half day city sightseeing to Buddhist site Boudhanath Stupa and one of old Durbar Kathmandu Durbar Square.

Day 18 :Departure

Today Active Sherpa Trekking airport representative will transfer to you at international airport for final departure with lots memory of Nepal.
